Live update error 8920, 223

Okay I have had this error a couple of times already. It started maybe a month to 3 weeks ago once with the Norton x64 virus defintions. Then I did the intellegnce updater fix. That worked. Then maybe a few weeks later the failed to complete happened again this time with the normal virus definintions. I wait and it fixes itself, then it happens again and again. It always fixes itself, but for it to happen on a weekly basis almost it gets kind of annoying. Because it did it again today when i had that problem yesturday, and the problem fixed itself. What do I do? Should I just let it keep fixing itself, and I am curious if others are having this problem.

"What do I do?"

There isn't really anything you can do with this error.  It is a temporary Live Update server problem.  That is why it "fixes itself".  It happens from time to time and about all we can do is reboot and try running Live Update again later.

I hope that helps a little.

It sort of does, but sometimes this happens like days in a row, after it fixes ifself. Is that still just a live update server issue as well? Also today now the reputaion revocation list failed to update as well.

If you get the same error code then yes, it is still a problem with the Live Update servers.

If you have a read around in both the N360 board and the NIS / NAV board you will see others reporting similar problems with running Live Update.

FWIW, I'm also seeing updates failing when I check my history but they normally install next time Live Update runs by itself.  If I never checked my history I wouldn't even have known about the failures.

Cheers!

You might check that your system date and time are correct.

I am having the same problem with Liveupdate.
