Hello,

following problem occured yesterday: I installed NIS 2008 (Version 15.0). After finishing up the installation process, Live Update checked for Updates and downloaded all necessary files, but suddenly Live update stopped working immediately after updating the new network driver component. I had to restart my pc. Nothing worked. After restarting my pc, all updates were installed this time with the consequence that i had serveral entries of a symantec network driver with a yellow question-mark in my device manager. I deinstalled NIS 2008 with the removal tool and started installing NIS 2008 again but it did not work. Live Update stopped at this point mentioned above. Could those problems be caused by installing new chipset drivers? And is Version 15.0 fully compatible to Service Pack 3? Or do i have to update to Version 15.5? I have no idea at this moment.

Best regards,

When you ask if it can be caused by installing new chipset drivers, which chipset are you referring to? What network controller are you using?

Norton Internet Security 15.0 is compatible with Windows XP sp3, however there are some bug fixes in Norton Internet Security 15.5 that might be helpful. I would recommend installing this free update and let us know if the problem persists. Thanks!

Hello,

thanks for your answer. My Board is a Gigabyte M57 Sli S4. I did install the latest driver (09.06.08, Nvidia Driver 15.17) available last friday. I wondered a bit, after updating the chipset drivers, the name of my network controller card was changed into "Nvidia nForce 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet". So, i thought this could be the reason why Live Update has not been able to update the Network driver so far. Can you help me?

Best regards,

Hello Tony,

i forgot to say. I wished i could use this update. I got a special version  from my Provider T-Online and they told me last week, this update to 15.5 would not be suitable for this provider's version. So, I'm really helpless.

Best regards,

Le_Chien-Loup

I'm sorry for the difficulty you experienced this weekend. In the hope that they have a potential solution for your problem, I have notified the team responsible for the special T-Online build of NIS.

I'll let you know when I hear back from them.
