Thanks!

Pulse updates was turned on. I never had this problem til today. I’ve had 2009 for 2 weeks. Once I updated manually it has been doing fine all day. Just checked it and it said updated 2 hours ago which might be a little long.

Live update is turned on and I have been on my computer for 5 hours. I checked Norton Internet Security 2009 and it said that the last update was 13 hours ago. What is going on?

Has it been idle in the mean time. My experience is that it needs a little tick to start updating again. Could be manually or a idle activity

Computer was not idle. I just checked it says that it was updated 6 hours ago. You should not have to jump start the updater if its working right. I can see the average user manually updating. That would work great. Kaspersky was always updating. Hope Norton gets this fixed.

Same here.

But I found out that if your connection is not always on, then Liveupdate needed to be click.  After that, Pulse Updater will update every now and then.

Yes, pulse Updater is some thing new to NIS, therefore, give Symantec some time to smooth out the rough edge.

On the other hand, NIS should have options for updates (ie:- let users control the time for updates and Pulse Updates).

Thank you

Are you receiving any error message while running LiveUpdate from the Norton product interface?

Open Norton product> Click Settings under the Computer Pane> Under Updates, check whether Pulse Updates option is turned On?

All of a sudden the Live Update is not working, I tried rebooting and it does the same thing.

SEE IMAGE BELOW

We have a bunch of PC's here at the office and I would hate to think I have to reinstall them all.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mitch

Live Update Fail

Now that I can see your images, check that your system date and time are correct.

Well...I checked a few PC's including mine and the Date/Time is correct.

Yesterday the problem was solved on one of the PC's by running the removal tool and re-installing...but that will not do when I have so many PC's to maintain.

Here is another error screen I forgot to post yesterday.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mitch

OK...more information.

The problem seems to be our Watchguard Firewall.

I noticed that the only PC that is working is for the other IT Guy that we gave Super Access to because the Firewall was blocking some online backup software he's running.

I placed myself in the Group and now it works.

I guess I'll be talking to our Firewall guy.

One of the problems here is that the Norton line of protection is designed to work on home systems that will not have an industial strength firewall in the network.

You and the other IT guy will have to try to figure this one out or look into using one of Symantec’s Enterprise solutions.
