Live Update still pending after 3 hours

I clicked on the 'fix now' button as I always do when I open my pc.  The Live Update is still 'pending' on everything after 3 hours.  How long should I wait for it to start?  I don't want to start uninstalling and reinstalling anything... I don't know how to.

Thanks Peter, I will keep that in mind.

Windows PC's need periodic full system restarts that you cannot get if the device is just going to sleep. Than ensures all pending updates get a chance to be properly processed, or in the case of Norton, it allows pending fixes to be completed. I usually restart every 4 or 5 days.

I don't know what was wrong, but I ran Norton Utilities Premium overnight (it was taking a while so I left it running).  In the morning I found my pc had been turned off and when I restarted it and used the 'fix now' button everything went as usual.  Thank you for your comment, in future I will restart my computer from time to time.  Usually I just let it go to sleep on it's own.

You should not see a 'fix now' button when you start your computer. First thing to try is to be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature..
