I have Norton Internet Security 2010. I am also on dial-up. This issue started about a week ago. I noticed that IS wasn't updated so I ran live update manually. It never finishes. I let it run overnight and it was still on the looking for updates step. I tried disconnecting the internet and it still runs. I tried canceling it and it keeps asking if I want to cancel. I have to reboot to close live update.
I contacted Norton support and the guy told me to reinstall Internet Security. I'm hesitant to try this because I do have a slow connection and it will take a LONG time for it to download all the updates. However I will try this if I can download the lastest updated version and install it (using a different computer of course).
Any suggestions?
