Live Update will not update to version 16.7. Instead, I get an error pop up saying that I need to reinstall NIS. Actually, I've had this problem before at this thread:
However, this Live Update was not really solved except for waiting for the full manual install download to be posted. The previous thread related to updating from 16.1 to 16.2. I again had the same issue going from 16.2 to 16.5 (except that the manual install download was promptly posted so I could fix it in a jiffy). And now I'm having the same problem going from 16.5 to 16.7. I have three computers and the problem exists on only one computer. All run XP with all updates installed. One can run the Norton Removal Tool many times. Since one then installs the prior version, the error hits as soon as Live Update tries to install the new version.
Has anyone figured out a solution to this or why it is occuring?
Does anyone know when the manual install download will be posted? (If any Symantec folks are reading this, I'll encourage them to post manual installs as soon as possible.)
