LiveUpdate - "An Update Error Occurred"

G'day

I'm trying to update Norton AntiVirus but am having no success. I'm running MacOS 10.13 High Sierra with the latest supplemental update. I have verified that I have Norton Antivirus 7.5 (build 140, ESD) with an active account. All was fine a few days ago but today I started having the problem. I get the dialog box saying that there is a problem and I need to run a fix. I run the fix and when it completes I'm told that LiveUpdate is Up to date (in green with a check mark) However, at the bottom both Security and LiveUdate are in Orange with a subheading of "Attention". I have read a blog by Mohan_G (sept_2017) saying that an update to Norton Security 7.5 is available to comply with MacOS 10.13 High Sierra and that it is available via LiveUpdate. By the By, this is not an new installation as I have been running NAV for years now. what can be done??

Bartholder535 Following up to see what your status is with your issue. Did reinstalling correct it? Can we assist further?

Cheers

All: The notion that MAC OS is not vulnerable to viral infections is actually very naïve. A few examples although dated are below. More recent viral events with MAC regarding the NSA leaks toolkits especially hit the Apple community. I think that's about as serious of a need to be protected as any.

Bottom line is ...protect yourself let others make their own choices and suffer the consequences as such. Norton products offer the highest protection and best support than any I have dealt with. Trust your instinct and stay protected in every fashion possible. Those are your best defenses.

Remove and reinstall your product with these instructions:

I have asked for this thread to be moved to the Norton for Mac Board for better visibility.

I suggest Uninstalling all Norton Applications and Not Bothering. Mac Doesn't Require Any Antivirus, Hackers And Malware Creators Target Windows NT Because its most common in the workplace, and has lots of unlocked doors and wormholes, where things can get in. Check out this guide if you want to read up on it:

Hope This Helps,
