Working again here.
Yep, now back to normal, a reassurance that the use of internet was safe would of been helpful. Guess windows update not too sure about 64 bit.
Just letting you know that it seems to be updating just fine now.
Thanks Symantec

Indeed all seems to be fine now.
Good job.
Yes thanks
It is solved !!
All green now
but performance map still suffer
Have been watching this thread as I have had this problem since Friday.
Like others it seems corrected now and works ok in the United Kingdom..
When I tried Friday 4 updates worked and 3 would not despite several attempts.
Any idea why this was so as I would have expected complete success or complete
failure.Do different updates come from different servers?
Thanks
Yes, I am sure that not all Norton users get their updates from the same server or from servers at one location. That wouldn't work; it would lead to overload in no time.
Hi,
I can also confirm that this issue is resolved. It also affected my 2 desktop PCs yesterday but everything is working fine now.
This is what makes me glad to be a customer of Symantec! This issue was resolved very fast. Well done to everyone involved especially Tim_Lopez who kept us all informed.
Have a great day and a good weekend everybody.

The problem is back! See my previous post.
I'm also getting this error code when trying to run live updates. Everything installs apart from Norton 2011 smart virus definitions x64 which fails to complete..
They moved the current updates (today) over from the big thread of the previous situation with this error several days ago.
Please continue to post here if you are still or now having 8920,223 error during liveupdate.
This is not solved, I am now getting 8920,223 again, as of a few minutes ago. It was working after the previous problem, but now the problem is back. NORTON!!! I am on NIS 2010 fully updated until today. Note that it looks like the auto fix puts on 2011, which I do not want yet. I am on Windows XP Media Center (HP desktop with AMD X2 processor) with patch Tuesday fixes applied. Help!
same here....any ideas?
