LiveUpdate error - "Microdefs error - LiveUpdate had an error updating the virus definitions"

I keep getting the same error when running LiveUpdate on NIS 2011

“Microdefs error – LiveUpdate had an error updating the virus definitions”

I have completed the following troubleshooting steps.

Ran LiveUpdate immediately following a reboot – same error

Uninstalled NIS2011, reboot, reinstalled NIS2011, run LiveUpdate – same error

Although everything updated except the AV definitions

Validated that LiveUpdate is running at 5.1.2

Attached a screen shot of product version after LiveUpdate

NIS 2011 seems to be running OK, no other errors and it doesn't complain at all.

Thanks for the help,

M.

Lee,

the Symantecinfo.txt is 2.1MB in size...the max is 2MB.  Forum will not allow .ZIP files.

Can I upload it to a Symantec FTP server?

Thanks,

M

I've sent you an email address via private message.

I am having a similar error and was wondering if there was a solution for the issue. I have tried to auto update and then customize it so the defs were the only thing I was downloading but still no avail.

In the other user's case it turned out to be due to use of the case-sensitive file system (which is not supported).  Are you also using it?  If not, can you gather and send the information as outlined earlier in the thread?

Not using case sensetive file save. Here is my info:

You are running an old version of NAV (10.1.1) for which we no longer support virus definitions update via LiveUpdate.  You can still get the latest definitions here:
