LiveUpdate fails even after clean install

Hope this is the right forum to post to...

 

My LiveUpdate will not go through and I keep getting the following error message: 

 

LU1803: LiveUpdate failed while getting your updates.
LiveUpdate has an internal error while getting your updates.  Your Symantec programs were not updated.

You should try getting updates at a later time.  If LiveUpdate fails again with this error, you should re-install LiveUpdate.

 

 So I have reinstalled it but receive the same message.  Any ideas on what else I can do?  Or is this a known problem at this point?

 

 I have been receiving this message for a couple weeks now and I don't want to leave my computer at risk.

Full Version: 10.1.7.7000

Windows XP Pro

 

I just used the windows add/remove program from the control panel. 
Where is the removal tool located?  I could try uninstalling it and re-installing using the removal tool.
