Doing a Norton 360 (version 22.24.3.2 ? ) Liveupdate on up to date Windows 10 Pro version 10.0.19045. After telling it to apply patch I get a Liveupdate popup telling me that the app "Host Process for Windows Services" must be closed before the patch can be applied. Not an app I knowingly started. Closest I can find in Task Manager is two instances of "Host Process for Windows Tasks". Is that what Liveupdate wants killed, and can I do so without killing Windows itself? Popup Screenshot attached.
best option would be to restart and run live update again
sometimes it can take 2 times for the update to apply ( not always)
click the apply now
As xjoex says, do a restart instead. I used to have the same issues years ago when clicked on 'Apply Now', can't remember what the process was but now ignore the 'Apply Now' & just do a standard restart, issue then disappeared. That was when I was on version Windows 10, since upgrading to Windows 11 I don't bother with the 'Apply Now'.
Simply restart your PC.
