LogMeIn Rescue

When Norton support personnel use LogMeIn Rescue to connect to your machine, is there anything left on the machine?  I’d like to uninstall the software, if so.  I’m not seeing anything in Add/Remove Programs, unless I’m just overlooking it.  Where else would I check?

Once you are connected with a support agent online, all of your communication is conducted in a secure environment. When the support session ends, the remote session will also end simultaniously and no one can remotely access your computer again without your permission. If LogmeIn is not shown in Add/Remove programs, then I don't think that anything is left in your computer which needs to be removed. LogMeIn Rescue is the service that is used by the Symantec support team to remotely connect to your computer and troubleshoot your problems. It is safe and the sessions expire the moment they terminate the connection.

Also,Symantec authorized support agent would have given you a PIN to connect to your computer through an applet. Once the PIN expires, your session is no longer active. So, no need to worry about this further.

You’re answering questions I didn’t ask.  I’m not really worried about anyone else connecting.  I use GoToAssist Express to support my clients so I understand the issues here.  I just don’t want a bunch of stuff left on my computer that I don’t need.  I didn’t know if it uninstalled after the session or what.  Most likely, it’s just left sitting out there somewhere, like so often happens because companies don’t care to offer a way to let people get rid of their software.  They worry a lot about getting it on your computer and much less about getting it off.  It’s hard to battle the accumulation of junk on your computer, but I try to, if I can.
