Looking for an alternative to Norton

Sick of all the popups and spam coming from Norton 360. Turned off all notification options, and still they come. Norton has become a virus. Subscription ending soon and will not be renewed.

Any suggestions on a good replacement?

You have my sympathies, xjoex.  Tired of being hassled to protect my non-existent children (among other things).

Thanks for your reply. Just wish Norton would be less intrusive and stop with all the spam. They claim that they can be turned off, but they lie.

I have done a lot of research and find there are alternatives out there but they all come with their own set of problems.

Everyone's mileage may differ and Norton has it's own set of advantages and disadvantages. At least I am aware and can deal with the problems with Norton. And this forum is a big plus in my mind with many experienced posters willing to help. And a big thanks to all here.

I have looked at Avira, Bitdefender, Mcafee, Kaspersky and a few others. Closest thing I could find that sounded decent was Bitdefender. It has a one way firewall compared to Norton's bidirectional firewall and a limited VPN compared to Norton's no limit no log VPN. Pricing, other features, and ability to trap malware is similar. They require auto renewal and payment info as do most others.
