I regularly re-evaluate parental control solutions for my kids and can’t seem to get enough input from the support team for Norton Family about what features in my wishlist are actually included/not-included in the Norton Family solution. Maybe you can assist.
Cross platform including Android, Windows and iOS
Social media monitoring (which does your solutions monitor?)
Text monitoring and alerts for words, phrases, and photos
Ability to read/view all text messages
Ability to read/view all instagram messages
Ability for my kids to submit requests for more time per app or more time across the platform, through the mobile app
Whitelist some applications so they are always allowed/unblocked and can be used at any time
One profile per child that can be applied to multiple devices (do not want to reconfigure each device separately)
Youtube search and videos watched history (with alerts)
Browser search history and websites visited
Realtime location with history and geofencing
Ability to view all Google Photos content
Parent app
Parent website to be accessed/controlled via computer
App specific time limits
Daily screen time limits
App/phone pre-scheduled downtime
On device content monitoring (i.e. photos, screenshots, videos) and notifications for anything inappropriate
For what it’s worth, my children are ages 11 and 14, so what we need in a parental control solution will always need to cover both elementary aged kids and teenagers, both with very different needs.
Hi and thank you for taking time to respond. This is a similar response to what I received in chat with the Norton Support team, and it doesn’t address my requirements. I read through each page you’ve linked, and my questions still stand.
Darnit, there are a few in there that are a dealbreaker for my family. Whitelisting applications/always allow is a must have as my children move between two homes and need access to the opposite parent (that they are not with) at all times.
