Issue abstract: Lose Password Manager password issue, Startup Manager Problem
Detailed description: Have been away for 6 weeks and now find every time I close Chrome I have to reenter my Password Manager password. Very frustrating! I have a feeling that years ago now I think I had to do but for years as long as I didn’t shutdown I didn’t have to keep reentering it no matter how many times I opened and closed Chrome i didnt have to reenter my Password Manager password.
The second problem is for years I’ve run a program called Cacheman at startup which allows me to monitor memory and CPU usage at all times. It’s in Startup Manager but for some reason now Norton keeps turning it off! I can set it to turn on at startup, reboot and it doesnt start because Norton has already turned it off!!!
Is there a way to stop Norton sticking its nose into my business? Ive been usung Norton for decades, back to the Systemworks days but if i can’t resolve these issues I’ll be looking elsewhere.
Cheers,
Gary

Google…“Cacheman at startup”…found Cacheman Change Startup https://www.outertech.com/en/change-startup
So, Cacheman Change Startup is listed with Norton Startup Manager?
Thanks for your reply bjm. Unfortunately the only bit i can definitively answer now is that Cacheman is in Startup in Norton. It’s now 2am here in Melbourne and because i have what’s best described as a very rare form of ALS I’m not game to get upstairs onto my pc now in case i fall (am on my tablet). Will hopefully be able to do so later today.
Interestingly although I’ve noticed in the past it doesn’t think Password Manager is set up (see attached screenshot) it’s worked on my pc for years. If I click on Set Up Now it seems to know it’s already set up and links to screens trying to convince me to buy other Norton stuff…
Every time I try uploading a screenshot it seems to be OK but then comes up with the error message “Sorry, there was an error uploading whateverthefileis.jpg. Please try again.”
