Lost Norton menu in Outlook 2007

For some reason I lost the Norton anti spam menu in Microsoft Outlook 2007 and I can’t get it back no matter what I try. I’m using NIS 2009. Any ideas how to get the menu back?

Did you installed it only “now”, or did you used it for a while, and ie. after some update it’ just disappeared?

I’ve been using it for while with no problems.  I just suddenly lost it yesterday.  Nothing was updated at that time that I know of.

Hello Msradell,

Can you let us know what methods you've tried to get the toolbar back? Have you tried going to the View/Toolbars menu and seeing if it is disabled? Have you looked at the NIS Settings to see if AntiSpam is enabled? Have you attemped to reinstall the software?

I've seen a few threads on here where users have had this issue. Try the solution on this thread and let us know if it works - http://community.norton.com/norton/board/message?board.id=nis_feedback&view=by_date_ascending&message.id=20550#M20550

When I look at the toolbars I don’t even see a check box for the Norton toolbar like they used to. Antispam is turned on. I haven’t tried reinstalling the software yet I guess I’ll do that next. I’ve used two of my three installs and don’t want to lose the third, will I if I reinstall on the same machine? I’m assuming I want to use the Norton uninstall utility, not Windows Vista uninstall.

Hello Msradell,

You can simply uninstall and reinstall.

Before you do that, did you try the solution on the link I provided?

Yes, I tried the solution on the link.  Actually I think I’d try that earlier but I did it again with no help.  I’m going to do the uninstall/reinstall now.  I’ll let you know what happens.

Tim,

Uninstalling and reinstalling solves the problem.  Thanks for the help!

First thing to do IMO is to go to the M$ Office/Outlook 2007 'Trust Centre' and see whether it has flagged NIS as being potentially unsafe. (if so change it to safe then stop and start Outlook).

When I first installed 360 I had this problem. It prevents the AntiSpam feature from working.
