The link took me to a fake macafee site claiming it there was a virus on the computer. Back tracked so fast, I ended up on the google tab. Norton did not tag the site.

It took me there without me even clicking on something. the tv tropes link i was on that transfered to the site above was

So it sounds like you are accessing the same site from both devices and clicking on something that takes you to that link.

To me it appears that TV Tropes has ads on their pages that may be programmed to redirect your browser. I would suggest an ad blocker extension for your browser. That should stop these redirects.
