If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:

@user9025 What is the malware detected and for what program? Have you side loaded any app that are not from the Google Play store since owning the new device?

Google protect has never indicated malware on my Galaxy Z-Fold 4 nor Z-Flip 5 since I have owned them. Norton could have legitimately missed something or this is a false positive detection from Google Protect.

AI Overview
If Google Play Protect blocked your banking app due to malware, you should not try to bypass the warning. It means a malicious application on your device poses a serious risk of financial fraud or identity theft.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to resolve the issue safely.
Step 1: Immediately remove the malware
Open the Play Protect menu. Open the Google Play Store app. Tap your profile icon at the top right, then tap Play Protect.
Review the warning. Play Protect will show a warning about a potentially harmful app. Tap the warning to see which apps have been flagged.
Uninstall the suspicious app. To remove the app, tap the warning notification and then tap Uninstall. Play Protect may also have automatically disabled or removed the app for you.
Restart your phone. After uninstalling, reboot your device to help clear any active malicious processes.

Step 2: Check your bank and Google accounts
Contact your bank. Use a different, trusted device (like a computer) to contact your bank immediately. Explain that you believe your mobile device was infected with malware. Ask them to monitor your account for any fraudulent activity and report any suspicious transactions.
Use a different device for banking. Do not log in to your banking app or website from the infected phone until you are certain the threat has been completely removed.
Perform a Google Security Checkup. On a trusted device, go to your Google Account and run the “Security Checkup.” This will help you review your account settings and secure your account against potential theft.

Step 3: Secure your accounts
Change your passwords. If malware has been on your phone, your credentials may have been compromised. Change the password for your Google Account, your bank account, and any other important accounts (like email or social media) that you may have accessed from your phone.
Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA). Make sure MFA is enabled on all sensitive accounts, especially your bank and email. MFA provides an extra layer of security, making it harder for a thief to access your accounts even if they have your password.

Why you should not bypass the warning
Some videos on YouTube and online forums may suggest temporarily disabling Play Protect to bypass the warning and use your app. This is extremely dangerous.

Malware can steal financial information. Many malware programs, like the SharkBot trojan, are specifically designed to target banking apps. They use keyloggers or fake overlays to steal your login credentials and initiate unauthorized money transfers.
Malware can bypass MFA. Some advanced banking malware can intercept one-time passcodes sent via SMS to defeat multi-factor authentication.
You can make the problem worse. Bypassing the security warning could grant the malware full access to monitor your activity and capture sensitive information, which is exactly what Google Play Protect is designed to prevent.
