MalwareBytes has brought out an app for Android phones. Yeah yeah, I know this is a Norton Forum, but it's about choice, right ? PS. I've tried it, and it looks pretty good......
Even here MBAM is an important tool .....
Is it free or paid for? Interactive or on command?
Is this what F4E is referring to? (This seems to be free... I don't know the answer to the other question...)
Malwarebytes Comes to Android with a Sane Approach to Security
Thanks -- I think this answers most of my queries:
<< The manual scan is accessible from the main screen, but the Malwarebytes app also scans in the background on a schedule. By default it happens once a day, but you can change it however you like. It's not going to be running in the background to babysit you like some apps do—that's just not necessary on Android as there is no such thing as a driveby app installation. >>

You're welcome! Glad you found it useful.

Hi,Hugh. Yep, both free and interactive. It seems to be very well thought out, and designed. Good features, and nothing unnecessary...
I tested it with the Eicar Virus Test, and it jumped on it immediately...
Also. I copied this off the MalwareBytes Mobile Forum..
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Mobile is intended to work like Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware for your PC. It is specifically for detecting malware and virus that behave as malware. It is not intended to replace your existing antivirus application because you need that to detect virus.
I've tried running this with Antivirus Free by BitDefender from Google Play, and they both work fine together on my Samsung Galaxy S2...Anti Virus Free basically only runs when you download something from the Google Store.
The updated version from Google Play has the option of turning off real time protection, to save on battery useage.
