Hi, why Norton Mac forces to use proxy? Is there any way to disable it, It slows down browsing. I just want to use Norton antivirus and firewall functions.
Norton support is so inaccessible. There’s no easy way to get answers. They don’t have good search engines, so if you request something that doesn’t exactly match, there’s no result. Don’t even think about trying to reach them unless you want to cancel.
They have the arrogance of Adobe, only more annoying. Who says I must use their VPN or password manager? I have better options. Norton wants a monopoly on the services it sells. It doesn’t want you to use antivirus without using the rest. If you don’t activate everything in 360, you get dinged daily.
I want to turn off task notifications as well. I haven’t found a setting for it.
fwiw ~ this process [here] works for me to reach:
Norton support via Social Support | Chat | Phone [here]

Caveat: I’m not Mac
Hello @Mika_Savela , @LA_User
Please post progress
Hi, there is no progress. Stuck on mandatory use… If I disable those from Mac system settings, then norton asks to activate them… And I can’t bypass that question, so that I could access to norton main window without activating them. Norton still works on background, but if I try to go norton’s main window, it asks to activate those again.
