I recently copied files from my wife's old computer to a network storage device. Norton Antivirus identified and quarantined a virus in a full scan over night. It tells me that no further action is required, but it reports that this file performed 80 threat actions and mentions temporary files in my user account on the computer performing the scan.
The virus was in a program installed in "program files" in the old computer.
How is it possible that this program performed any threat actions, let alone 80?
Do I have to worry about these 80 actions?
I certainly did not run it on my computer. Does Norton Anti-Vrius run the program to check for viruses? NAV mentions serveral folders in my user account temp folder that NAV couldn't remove - but those files were not there.
Did the virus actually perform actions? Should I worry about what they are? Why would Norton report these without telling me if I have to worry?
Thanks
