Folks. IF you use only Windows Defender as you security solution PLEASE read this article. Also from the related article:

The good news is that Microsoft Defender will detect malicious files downloaded with MpCmdRun.exe, but it is unknown if other AV software will allow this program to bypass their detections.

GREAT news for Windows 10 users. Microsoft has removed the ability to exploit downloading of malicious files via Windows Defender with commands using the MpCmdRun.exe command-line utility. The update to Windows Defender Antimalware Client version 4.18.2009.2-0 disables that ability. More about that here.
