Given this is the future of core Windows protections, I have to beg the questions:
1- Is Norton a part of the Microsoft “private preview” partnership?
2 - Is this a part of what we are seeing with the version 24.xx / 25.xx hardening against user intervention settings at the core of current Norton products?
Personally, I am hoping the answers to both questions are an astounding YES, for the benefit of end users and A/V vendors alike. A/V has zero reason to have total access to every aspect of the OS core for the obvious reasoning set in this article. Also as stated in the article the gaming community is posed to benefit from this program as well.
