I had a look at Symantec System Recovery 2013. It installed fine and I created a number of partition images without any problems.
When I went to try the SRD I received the following error
Error 0x0000005D: Your PC needs to restart. Please hold down the power button" when booting the Symantec System Recovery 2013 Recovery Disk (SRD)
Symantec Error 0x0000005D

The one thing Symantec failed to mention in minimum system requirements for 32-bit operating systems is that the processor must support PAE, NX, and SSE2.
Hope this helps anyone looking at updating to Symantec System Recovery 2013.
