Monitoring My Child's iPad? NOT!

Since I never received a response from KatieQ (Administrator) to my post entitled "Monitoring My Child's iPad" on 09-10-2013 -- asking about the real reason Norton Family is not offering a way to monitor my child's iPad, I have decided to unsubscribe from Norton Family and uninstall it from all my computers.

Norton Family did an OK job of monitoring my child's desktop computer, but she now exclusively uses her Apple iPad with the iOS operating system.  Norton Family does not offer a way to monitor iOS devices.  And millions of kids and teenagers use iPads and iPhones.

Customers on this Board have been asking for YEARS what's going on with Norton Family not offering a way to monitor iOS devices.  And all we've been told is something like "our development team is looking into it."  We've never been told the real reasons -- technological or political/licensing issues.   I am tired of waiting.  Goodbye, Norton Family!

Hi Phinizy,

Thanks for your patience.  The Norton Family program currently doesn't monitor children's activities on IOS devices.  The team is working on the features to monitor IOS devices.

Thanks,

Katie

Hi there

setting up parental controls on iOS devices is fairly simple, you can set ratings for movie/song downloads through itunes and there are age restrictions for app installs.

For my daughter, I am the only one who has the password for her apple id, so all apps are approved by me.

Youtube is accessed though her google account so I can set parental controls though that and monitor via history.

Under iOS setting I have disabled safari and installed the qustodio browser (qustodio is a web based parental control solution, settings work for pc and devices)
