I have Norton Internet Security 2008, and I have used it on three computers. Is it possible to move Norton from one computer to another one? I have uninstalled the version from one computer that I do not use anymore, but when I tried to install NIS on my new computer, it says my subscription is still being used by three computers. Also, I currently have a demo version of NIS 2010 on my new computer that has ran out of time, so is it allowed to a product key from an older version to a newer one? Thanks in advance.
I've read a bunch of threads about this, and the consensus seems to be that yes it is possible, but you need to contact a customer support agent by chat or by phone and explain the situation.

As just said when you get that message just contact Customer Support and they will sort it out easily and painlessly.
To contact customer support Click on this link and work on from there.
You can choose CHAT or Email; phone may have a long wait time and feedback from users tells us that CHAT is by far the best at resolving problems.
Note that that link is to the USA/CAN website so if you are located elsewhere I'm sure you will be able to find the equivalent location on your local Symantec website; some pages have a link at the top right where you can select the country you are located in.
I am fairly certain that you can use the KEY that will be liberated on the trial installation of 2010 to validate it but to make sure ask the agent at the same time.
You do know that with a valid subscription to versions from 2006 you are entitled to a free upgrade to NIS 2010 and on the the latest version of that.
New NIS 2010:
Click on this link -- NIS 2010 This will download a single file of around 90MB which you should save on your hard drive where you can use it again if necessary -- Do not select Run but use Save when asked and remember where you put it!
Check the version number (Help / About where it is in the format nn.nn.nn.nnn ) on the downloaded and installed version and if it is not 17.6 .... then run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting between, until it says you are Fully Uptodate and check the version again
One point to bear in mind is that AntiSpam is integrated into NIS 2010 and operates on a different principle to that of earlier versions so your settings and white/black lists will not transfer although the address book will be used if you set that to be whitelisted.
