MSN Messenger virus? Norton Systemworks 2005 ....HELP

Please check your logs and see if the Firewall is blocking anything and Post here.

 

The next thing I would do would be to Upgrade to N.SW. 2008 and do a Full System Scan in Safe Mode.   Let us know the Results.

 

Do you have any more Norton Products installed on your computer, e.g. N.I.S. 2008?   If so, Post them here.

 

Again, as Quads mentioned, any more information and deatiled, the better.

i believe i have downloaded a virus off msn messenger. since then it has given me nightmares.

 

norton tells me after a full system scan i dont have a virus and i've tried a free AV scanner and that confirms that. But my Norton AV is going nuts telling me its scanning hundreds of mails a minute and blocking them...it must be a virus flooding my computer

 

so i dontknow where to go...i cant find a virus and yet it must be

 

any ideas

Some Questions,

 

1. With MSN Messenger did you use a website like msncheck.net??   Which is bogus, just a way to get your username and password, so they have access. The Msncheck.net is seen as a Phishing site for starters.

2. You say Norton is going nuts scanning of mails, is that Incoming or Outgoing Mail??

3.  Is the Firewall blocking anything??

 4. Are you willing to use "Hijackthis" to send the log??

 

Any more detailed info you could give would be helpful, more detailed the better.
