My legitimate copy of Ghost 15 "ran out" of its trial period

It is interesting, today my legitimate copy of Ghost 15 "ran out" of its imposed trial period. I ran the uninstall and a registry cleaner (which took out lots of left over crap) and installed the program again. It told me I had "0" days left but still wouldn't accept my legitimate or numerous pirated serial numbers. Again it is interesting that Symantic can hid a expirery date somewhere in the registery etc. but has limited the program to not accept a lisence number. Smells of a corrupt company and maybe it is time to look elsewhere.

Oh yes the program ran fine - backup and restore - before it ended the trial period.

Once when I first contacted Symantic support they said that there would b an update to fix the problem - not here yet.

Who can recommend a simular backup program from a repituable supplier?

I only tried the pirated serial numbers out of desperiation. I just bought a ligitmate copy of Ghost for Windows 8 since my copy for Windows 7 still works ( 1 computer per copy). I just don't see why they won't release a patch so that it can accept the serial number since it worked ok for 30 days.

I would consider buying a simular program from Symantic if they even had one.

I feel that they have left users in the lurch. They won't even respond to emails etc.

I looked at Acronic and it is a befuduled program, I like the simplicity of Ghost and have used it for Windows XP and up.

I will have to use it from a CD.

I'm actually also very disappointed that a new version is not yet availible.

Everyone has known about Windows 8 for a long time and there was plenty of time to have a new version ready.

Personally, I don't like Windows 8 and I am in no hurry at all to upgrade but a lot of people like it and with all the new systems now coming with Windows 8 there are a lot of unhappy customers.

One of the Symantec employees has said that Ghost 16 will be availible "Q1 of 2013".

I have not seen any employee make any statements about if a patch will be made for version 15.

Until then your only option is to use version 15 in the trial mode, manually make images from the recovery disk, or setup a dual boot.
