My Norton wont install

When trying to install I get the message that “We weren’t able to verify your downloadr” - Error: 80060004.

Any guidance please?

What Windows version are you installing this on? Is yours a version of Windows running in S mode? Did you purchase Norton for the country you reside in and are installing it in that region?

Hi - Windows 11 - yes purchased in the country I reside in. Not sure what ‘S’ mode is. I had Norton 360 Gamer which I uninstalled before trying to download this. Thank you for responding.

Windows running in S mode restricts installing software to those available on the Microsoft Store. In your system settings you should be able to see your version. The error code 80060004 suggests that the installer is looking for a different certificate/digital signature, aka certified MS app. IF you are not on Windows 11 S mode we can go further with other reasons that may be causing this. Please verify your version if you’d be so kind.

To determine if you have the Home version of Windows 11, open the Settings app, go to “System,” then select “About.” In the “Windows Specifications” section, look for the “Edition”

Ok thanks for the post back. You are definitely not running in S mode. By chance is there another older install of Norton already on the computer?

There was, Norton Gamer, but I uninstalled it before downloading the 360

Lets have you try this cleanup. Download the removal tool for Norton:

Version 24.xx / 25.xxremoval tool:
https://www.norton.com/nortonremover

Perform a removal only, allow the removal to complete then reboot. DO NOT reinstall your Norton product. Next, locate in drive C:\ any and all folders named Avast, Norton and Symantec. Remove all of these folders. When done reboot a second time. When a clean reboot has done reinstall your product from within your Norton account. Lets see if this cleanup gets you different results.

Hi! Did that but it didn’t work - same result. However, I found the previous N360Gamer downloader and ran that after removing everything else as you suggested - and it worked, my Norton is activated and now running. Thank you so much for the help!
