I've just installed BitComet 0.66 and NIS 2009 automatically created a rule for it. It appears that your BitComet version is too old, so you should first try to update to the latest version (visit www.bitcomet.com).

Also if you use both NIS and ZA, please keep in mind that using more than one firewall is not recommended as you may encounter connectivity issues with different applications or conflicts.

Finally, check your ZA settings, and see if the program blocks BitComet.

im not using nis 2009, im using norton antivirus 2009. cause previous norton antivirus 2008 never frost my pc it give an option to allow or not for the software that use to operation on the internet

in other to un jammed my pc i have to force restart my pc. at first i think there some problem with the software or ot application i use so i open again the previous software i use it jammed whole my pc again. by that time i know the cause of my problem is the norton antivirus 2009.

i really need help her. i know my torrent i usually use it and i love it.if it still having problem, is it posibble to revert back to norton antivirus 2008. i dont want new bitcomet i accustomed with this software now old is the best.

upgrade to the latest bitcomet software…well utorrent is also a good choice…but bitcomet has lot other feature so i know u wud want to stick with bitcomet…so just upgrade to the latest version,

Sounds like your firewall (ZA) is blokking things here. Did you ask at their forums as well?

NAV 2009 does not have a firewall (NAV 2008 had), so I don't think It's blocking BitComet from accessing the internet. As already suggested, you should try updating your BitComet version and check your ZA settings (at least disable it for a while).

Usually, you can update from NAV 2008 to NAV 2009 using the same key, but I'm not sure if you can switch from 09 to 08. If you decide to try, first remove NAV 2009 using the Norton Removal Tool  then download NAV2008 and try to install using your NAV product key.

You'd not be able to able to use a 2009 key on a 2008 product. The other way - using a 2008 key on a 2009 product - is very much possible though.

Thanks for clearing that up, sunnyc!

Correction… it seems that you will actually be able to use a 2009 key to activate a 2008 product as well.  Sorry for the confusion.

i too have used bitcomet and utorrent with nis 2009 and there was no problem. nis automatically create rule for torrent sofware. download latest version of your torrent downloading software. and update nis 2009 though live update. your problem will be solved. and remember! downloading illegal content through torrent can send you behind the bars! that is jail! beware! don’t download through torrents…
