My hard drives contain 194 GB and 11.4 GB on my C: and D: drives respectively for a total 205.4 GB of used space. The N360 backup folder on my external hard drive contains ONLY the default set, and is 216 GB. I installed this new N360 last September. How can this be? I previously used Norton Save and Restore for years, and it was always considerably smaller than the drives it was backing up, which I assumed was due to some sort of compression. I always back up all programs and files...EVERYTHING!

Welcome,
A single full backup of your C: drive would not be larger than the actual drive file size with a compressed backup. BUT if you are set to do incremental backups [which are separate updates to the base full backup] then the file size of the backup will increase. You might want to review all of your settings for your backup set to be sure that an extra check mark didn't slip into the mix. [I've fat fingered myself into a few dark corners in the past]
