I recently installed N360 v. 20.3.0.36 on Windows 7 Pro x64. Diskkeeper, previously installed and functioning properly, has been removed. Did N360 do that? Is that why I can't disable the disk optimizer in N360? Is there a way to keep the other N360 features and go back to Diskkeeper for disk defrag?
Do you have one of the newish SSD Solid State Drives or a regular disk drive? If the former they should not be defragged so the function is disabled both in Windows by Microsoft and in Norton by Norton ....
I have regular ol' hard disk drives.
I just found the dialog for disabling disk optimizer in N360. I had to reinstall Diskeeper but it is now the default optimizer. Still don't know if the installation of N360 nuked Diskeeper or not.
Glad you resolved it ....
I uninstalled Diskkeeper some years ago since I found it was hogging resources and slowing everything if I let it operate in the background.
Windows 7 defrags automatically in the background and seems to do an excellent job -- all my drives show 0% fragmented when I look at how it is doing.
You might want to think about this ..... Uninsatll Diskkeeper and let Windows do it.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try.
Let us know what you think ....
