N360 Upgrade Bugs

Given how clunky the old GUI was, I was looking forward to upgrading. But unfortunately there are now bugs and missing features.

  1. I had to create a new local backup, but accidentally created it for the wrong drive. Since I was unable to change the backup location, I deleted and recreated it. However, I now can’t remove the old N360_Backup folder, even though I’m an administrator. I can’t even change the owner of the folder.
  2. There seems to be no way to run a manual backup across all devices. Each one must be performed separately.
  3. I can’t seem to get an overview of what’s been backed up. Now, I must drill down through folders, which is impractical.
  4. The tray icon is missing.

did you try temporarily disabling Product Tamper Protection

That worked - thank you. :slightly_smiling_face:

I found the issue with the missing tray icon - I had to reselect the icon in taskbar settings, where it has set to hidden.

Unfortunately, a feature in the old version that was removed some time ago is still missing; with a right-click of the tray icon, there was once the option “Run backup now”, which ran the backup across all devices. Norton stated that they removed it due to an issue with it, with the assurance that they were working on bringing it back.

Is it possible to add “Synchronise all backup sets” to the context menu?

I have another complaint. Managing backups is incredibly slow - whenever I click “Manage” or any other backup option, the screen takes forever to load. I suspect it’s enumerating the file list upon each screen load. This is unacceptable.
