I had N360 V1 on my computer, I then purchased and installed the N360 V2 (upgrade) a few days prior to my original subscription running out. Unfortunately when the ‘ccSvcHst’ error started I decided to uninstall the product until the issue was resolved. This has left my system unprotected and I’ve now decided to reinstall N360 but can someone advise me as I believe my original subscription has now expired and I need to know if I am able to just use the upgrade CD or do I have to attempt to install V1.

Norton have said here that Retail "Upgrade" disks are normal disks sold with a rebate. So you should be able to install it without having any previous installation there -- in fact if you did it would uninstall it first. You need to use the new KEY that came with it if the previous subscription has run out.

If it has not then I think you can install the new version but tell it to use an existing key when it asks for the key and it should run for the unexpired period; then give it the new key to continue with. If you don't do that you will lose any unexpired days on the old subscription.

But to sum up, you don't have to install an older version to install the newer "upgrade" ....
