I am using Windows XP. I just updated via LiveUpdate my NAV to 18.6.0.29. After rebooting, I reopened the NAV Control Panel window to confirm the settings. All appeared good, and I didn't change anything. When I closed the NAV control panel, the tiny NAV system tray icon disappeared from the bottom right corner of my PC (the tiny icon with the little green checkmark). I opened Windows Task Manager to see if NAV was still running, and normally I have two instances of ccsvchst running. One was no longer running. I re-booted, and once again I had the Norton icon in the system tray, and in Task Manager I had the 2 instances of ccsvchst. I opened the NAV control panel again, and when I closed it, the systray icon disappeared again, and in Task Manager, again only 1 instance of ccsvchst remained. I could not re-launch the control panel by clicking on the desktop shortcut; it was unresponsive.
So I rebooted yet again. So far the systray icon has remained OK, and I so far I still have the 2 ccsvchst processes running. But now I'm worried that it might turn off again sometime at random without me noticing it, since I'm not always staring at the bottom right systray all the time.
Any idea of what might have caused this? Have there been any reports of other people losing their NAV system tray icon and one of the instances of ccsvchst turning off after the new update? It seems to be related to the control panel in some fashion, and I could no longer launch the control panel from the desktop shortcut either until rebooting.
Thanks for any thoughts.
ADDENDUM-- Well, it just disappeared again, this time while I was still looking around in this forum. I had been connected to the Internet about 10-15 minutes. I saw the systray icon disappear, and 1 of the 2 the ccsvchst processes. Then I couldn't launch the control panel from the desktop shortcut. Rebooting has restored everything.
