If NAV 2005 has LUALL.EXE you could try that. It will be located in the folder group for Norton Live Update, not in the NAV folders if that vintage is set up like today's. It does LiveUpdate in a different way to the LiveUpdate within the application.
Of course may you have run out of charity updates <gdr> Seriously do they still offer definitions for that vintage and if so do all of the recent ones work with the older engines that will not have been updated?
Did you try updating your defs directly from Symantec as a download? You install Intelligent updater and can then update right from Symantec: Updater
You will have to do this daily if you want the latest virus defs. On the other hand, you can get the latest version of NAV for less than $20
Hi guys,
cheers for that, did the trick perfectly, Yep NAV 2005 still works well (or at least I have had no problems with it until now!!!) May have to look at prices again of new versions although in the UK they tend to cost about £40 upwards.
Cheers again!!
It sure is worth a try. On the other hand I don’t know what your PC costs but it is probably a lot more

Dave Cole just posted a message explaining what you may be risking by not going to the latest, NIS 2008 (free update to NIS 2009 when it comes out <s>) so have a look at that. You might feel "They would say that wouldn't they" but frankly they are right that the malware out there now is completely unknown to NAV2005 and systems that may keep one jump ahead of the malware is not and cannot be grafted into NAV2005.
