I have contacted Norton Anti Virus 2009 support representatives twice so far on this issue with no resolution. I am creating a Deployment image for use for our managed clients, the intent was to load NAV2009 onto the master image of Windows XP SP3 install strip out the Product Key then capture the deployment image. That way each client image would be prompted upon launch to input their individual product key that will be included with the system documentation.
I installed and activated NAV 2009 on my master image machine without issue. I contacted Norton Anti Virus 2009 support and asked how I could remove this Product Key from my Master Image machine. I was informed that I could remove the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SYMANTEC\CCPD-LC or possibly the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SYMANTEC\KSTORE\CCPD-LC keys to reset Product key and activation.
After installation and restart I went into the registry to delete these keys and none of these entries were found. Upon further investigation I did find these keys on a Windows Vista Business installation however not on Windows XP SP3. If anyone has suggestions on how I could remove the key from NAV2009 on Windows XP SP3 OS it would be appreciated.
