Sorry to butt in on somebody else's thread but I am currently using Norton AV 2009. When I tried updating to Norton AV 2010 about a year ago I had intermittent problems with startups and shutdowns and a couple of blue screen errors. I switched back to AV 2009 and everything worked fine, I thought maybe there were some bugs with the early version. I then tried several times to update it again over the course of about 6 months - I tried every way possible, updating, removing with NRT, removing with NRT three times in succession but no luck, same problems. Went back to AV 2009 for good and it works perfectly. So now AV 2011 is out but I am hesitant to even try it out with all of the problems I had with with AV 2010.
Anyboby have any idea why AV 2010 was causing problems with my system? It is a 1 1/2 year old Sony with plenty of power and ram, running 64bit Vista. i would like to try out AV 2011 sometime in the future but I am pretty sure that it will give me the same kind of problems as AV 2010 did.
