Cool  I'm finally free !!!

Let resume some facts...
Last year I bought a pack of 3 licences of  NAV2007  for my home  in the same time as a canadian taxe income software,
you were suppose to offer a rebate when buying both products.
Of course I post every pieces required for the rebate and after many discussions with your marketing staff  I found that you didn't want to honor your rebate!
You were saying that buying software at Walmart was not a valid place to buy Symantec product ...
Well  at that time I just reported that to the consumer protection of Canada.

I also gave you my words that I will not by Symantec product again !

And that finally happen !!!!  Of course I didn't renew my 3 license packs and as an IT consultant I really advise my client of that situation, and of course a lot of them didn't renewed theirs.

Beside  that  Im also really please cause one of my friend got infected and your product was not able to find the virus at all,  I try the free AVG version and it found it right away.

Cool  I'm finally free of your product and marketing staff forever !!!!!!

Please foward this message to  your Chairman of the Board and CEO
John W. Thompson

An “IT consultant” who recommends FREE antivirus protection to his clients? I would think an “IT consultant” would do thorough research on protection software before placing client computers at risk.

I have been using properly installed Norton products for over 10 years and have NEVER been infected. (And yes, I sometimes double check by using other companies on-line scans).

A year back I was given a laptop which had AVG installed. After a few days of use I discovered that there were two root kits which had slipped though along with some other infections. I immediately got rid of the AVG and installed my 2nd user licensed Norton NIS 2007. Guess what?  I have never had a problem since.

You get what you pay for. I’m not sure if John is more upset about the “rebate” or that a friend’s computer got infected, but I’m glad he was able to vent his frustration. Of course, judging by the tone of his post, maybe that’s why the rebate process didn’t go smoothly.

Anyway, good luck with your free anti-virus software; but you haven’t changed my mind. Norton has a proven track record with me and that’s what counts. Rebate or not, I'm willing to pay a fair price for good protection.

LOL

read again I advise people to NOT beleive in sysmantec marketing people ....

The didn't honour their own rebate conditions....

Of course they make more money in that way,  and if I have to pay product and loose rebate $ and loose my time  on phone calls ...

I WILL surely advise to buy another product :-)

But  hey if your like to thrust into a company who doesn't honour their rebate that's your rights!

IM sure John (symantec CEO) isn't upset at all,   less rebates means more money, more money means more happy administrator members, and I guest more they are happy more he gets  money in his pocket.

IM also sure he doesn't care at all about something else, he probably have 1 or 2 network analysts taking care of his laptops for him ...

LOL

As even AVG will tell you, not every antivirus catches everything.  I also know people who did the opposite - Went with free products like AVG, and ended up getting burned (note:  This isn't to say AVG is a bad product, just that nothing is 100%).

I guess you felt the need to let Symantec know you were dissatisfied, mission accomplished I guess :smileyvery-happy:  Its a shame you didn't try the 2008 product while your license was good;  I didn't like 2007 either, but the 2008 product has been rock-solid.
