Thanks Phil Thought that might be it

Does the same account for when I get multiple entries for the site itself, example sportingnews .com showing several times with tthe same date/time stamp? that the "Main Site" is actually made up of several subsites, not just the ads but other stories or functions?

I notice the multiple entries wit "busy" sites, sites that have a lot of links and things on it besides ads

This is probably a simple question, but I obviously am not aware of the answer. I notice that wen I go to soem website, that in the connection log there are multiple entries for that website and other sites. Example

I go to sportingnews.com a legit website and without me doing anything more than entering the site address the logs show the following:

9/22/08  8:12:38  www.sportingnews.com

              8:12:38  ad.doubleclick.net

              8:12:39  view.atdmt.com

              8:12:40  www.sportingnews.com

are these just the parts of the website? The ad parts? And the mulitiple parts of the site? This site is as it shows sports news so there are numerous links to stories

The ads (or images) are being loaded from a different web site.  This saves the guy writing the page from actually having to do anything, and makes sure that you get the latest blurb from the ad site.  So you are actually going to the different site to get the image.
