Hi,
I've been experiencing a bug with the full screen detection in NAV2009, in which it does not work on one of my computers. Actually, I have narrowed down the exact cause, so this is as much a bug report as a support request..
Anyways, on my HTPC (running Vista Ultimate), full screen detection is not working. I regularly get interrupted while watching a video, with Norton telling me that it is performing background tasks. I checked the History log, and it does NOT indicate that Light Silent Mode is turned on/off at any point.
On my desktop PC (also running Vista Ultimate), with the same media player (Media Player Classic Homecinema), it works fine. The log DOES say that Light Silent Mode is being turned on/off as appropriate.
Comparing my two machines, I narrowed down the issue-- Vista DPI scaling. On my HTPC, I have the scaling factor set to 200% (192 dpi), otherwise I can't read the text. On my desktop PC, I have it set at the default (96 dpi). If I change the HTPC to default scale factor, then full screen detection works fine. If I change my desktop PC to a non-default scale factor, then it breaks full screen detection.
I assume that the full screen detection is based on querying windows for their size, and triggering Light Silent Mode if window size == screen resolution. But with DPI scaling, this comparison breaks, I am guessing because the size of the window appears to be only half of what it actually is.
Anyways-- any workarounds would be appreciated, but I'm hoping this bug can be fixed, as NAV2009 is working very well for me otherwise.
Thanks,
- Lem
