Newbie alert. I'm just starting with this software...
I ran a reputation scan. It went through over 4 thousand files, and reported 0.02% with a "poor" trust rating. Not horrible but I worry about those 2 1/100ts of a percent.
Problem is I can't see how to find them, or get Norton to tell me which ones they are.
So which are the suspects?
update: okay, i blundered into clicking on the checkmark in the column heading and the poor reputation came to the top. The file is knfb.data.ni.dll, and it's hiding in a Toshiba package (this is a Toshiba laptop) that I recently downloaded, so I can understand why there would not be hordes of folks who've used this.
Is there a sensible way to be sure?
Hi KaylinOGorman,
Do not worry about bad files detected in a reputation scan. Reputation is used to trust certain files so that they can be skipped during regular AV scans, whereas files that are not trusted are always scanned and their behaviors monitored by Norton. The reputation scan simply tells you how Norton is categorizing files in order to operate more efficiently - it is not a malware detection tool, and no user action is necessary. If a file is considered dangerous, Norton will remove it on its own.
