For the past five days I've been battling to make this thing work with no success. I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the software many times already using the Norton Remove and Reinstall and Norton Power Eraser (for rootkit scan) as explained in the support site, but the problem persists. By the way, the rootkit scan w/ Norton Power Eraser yielded no problems but the issue continued.
I have no idea why it is not working smoothly because I previously had Norton AntiVirus for a year and decided to renew it for another year but this thing now just keeps giving me Error: 8504, 104.
This is the exact message I get every single time I reinstall:

I have followed the instructions available in the Norton suppot website but nothing seems to work and there are no telephone numbers or live chat with a real customer rep to help me out. This has caused me to completely hault all work in my personal projects, which has cost me money. Five days and counting so this is my last shot at trying to find a fix or some kind of support. I will kindly appreciate any help I can get but if there's no quick solution by Monday I guess I will have to move on by contacting my bank to cancel the purchase.
Btw, I contacted Norton via the support site two days ago but haven't received a reply by phone or email.
