I purchased and downloaded Norton 360 towards the end of last year. I am planning to rebuild my PC (complete clean install of the OS) including upgrading from Vista to Windows 7, and I will then need to download and install Norton 360 again. There are several months left in my current subscription.
At the moment, I have Norton 360 Version 3.8.0.41 installed on my PC.
I can only find links on the Norton / Symantec website to download Norton 360 Version 4 and not Version 3.
I assume my activation/product key for version 3 will not work for version 4, so I need to find a way to download Norton 360 version 3, rather than version 4.
I've done my best to try to find it, but no luck. Does anybody have an idea how I can do this?
Install N360V4 after clean install of OS. Your activation for N360V3 will work for N360V4. After installation of N360V4 just go to your Norton Account to get the N360V3 key, which will even work with N360V4, from there and activate N360V4.
You are eligible for free upgrade to Norton 360 Version 4 when you have valid subscription against previous Norton 360 Versions. You just need to install Norton 360 version 4 and use the Product key which you were using against Norton 360 Version 3.
Kindly make sure you download correct Norton 360 Version 4 product as there are three editions available. Norton 360 Standard, Norton 360 Premier Edition and Norton 360 Netbook Edition. Product Keys cannot be used interchangeably.
Also please make sure to save your product key to Norton Account (if Product Key is not saved into Norton Account so far) for future reference.
You can also save your identity safe information if you use that function of N360 and put it back into your new install of the program. Here is how you can do that.
Please follow these instructions to save your Identity Safe information by creating NPM file.
After installing your new version of N360 version 4.2, please remember to run live update continuously until you have all the updates and then reboot one more to time to settle everything into your computer. Please come back and let us know if you have any problems. It would also be a good idea if you uninstalled N360 from your computer before you reformat so that the number of activations should be correct.
If you have a problem with activating your N360 on the rebuilt computer, please let us know and we can give you a link for a free chat with customer support.
