I downloaded the app for mobile security, thinking it would allow me to do a virus or malware scan on my iPad; however, the only thing I see pertains to finding my device if lost or stolen. Is it possible to do a virus scan, and if so, how?
Hi Md33
Unfortunately Norton Mobile Security (NMS) for the iPad does not have the Malware scan feature like the Android version of NMS.
If you are unhappy with the NMS product Norton offers a full 60 refund on all products if the customer is not happy .
Just use the link below for more info -

I hope that info helps.
Cheers.
Thanks for your response. I wonder why Norton’s advertising and user guide indicate that iPad and iPhone are included with the devices that Norton 360 multidevice is intended to help?
Hi Md33
Norton 360 Multi-Device ( N360 M-D ) does help protect iOS devices being iPads and
iPhones with the iOS version of NMS which is not fully featured like the Android
version of NMS.
The key features for the Android version are shown in the Google Play Store where
the app is downloaded for Android devices the following features would be as part the
Android protection of the N360 M-D subscription -
• Use SMS text to remotely lock your lost or stolen phone
• Scan and remove apps and updates that have the potential to harm or slow down your device
• Scan SD cards for threats
• *New app scanning powered by NortonTM Mobile Insight, checks apps for malware, greyware, and helps protect against privacy risks such as exporting contacts, calendar, call logs etc.
• Find your lost phone or tablet on a map with remote locate
• Uses the built-in webcam to take a photo of anyone using your device once you list it lost or stolen (webcam-enabled devices only)
• Trigger a "scream" alarm to quickly find your missing device
• Send a customized message to anyone who finds your missing device
• Lock your stolen device remotely to prevent data theft
• Remotely wipe information from your device to protect your privacy
• Prevent fraudulent (phishing) websites from accessing your personal information
• Ability to instantly lock phone if the SIM card is removed
• Sync contacts and easily restore or share them across your devices
• Block unwanted calls and SMS text messages (phones only)
• Protect multiple Android phones and tablets
•Control security for all your devices through one website
And the iOS version which does not have all the same features but an extra one that the
Android version does not have lists the features in iTunes where the iOS version of the
app is downloaded from and the following features are the iOS part of the N360 M-D
product and subscription -
•Find your lost iPhone or iPad on a map with the remote locate feature.
•Trigger a “scream” alarm to quickly locate a lost phone or tablet
•Backup your contacts and easily restore them or share across all your mobile devices
•If you lose your iPhone or iPad and forgot to lock it, remote call lets you place an Internet call to your missing device and make arrangements to get it back (if device is locked then call will not be answerable)
•Control security for all your mobile devices through one convenient website
So N360 M-D does protect iOS devices with NMS as part of the products subscription
but just with not as many features as the Android devices and NMS from Google Play.
Hopefully more features will be added to the iOS version of NMS with time.
I hope that helps to clarify things if not please let me know as i will help as best possible.
Cheers.
Thanks once again for your response. It is disappointing that Norton is not clear nor candid concerning the fact that this product does not have the same features, and indeed the more important features, for iOS compared to Android devices. The primary reason why most persons purchase Norton products is to fix or repair problems caused by a virus, malware, etc. (and not to find a lost device). Hopefully, Norton will address this in the future and either provide free updates or stop claiming that their product will benefit those with iOS operating systems. Thanks again for your assistance!
No worries i am glad that i could be
of some assistance with your questions.
Cheers.
