Hi MarkCheatham,
Unfortunately, Symantec doesn't make a tool like this for Norton products. Are these consumer (Norton) products, or Enterprise products? You may want to visit our Enterprise forum (http://forums.symantec.com) for information on Enterprise product tools. I'm sorry I can be of more help.
Hi MarkCheatham,
What is your environment? Is this at home or in a small office? How many computers do you have running Norton? Do you know if all run Norton 2008?
In 2008 we introduced the home networking component into NAV/NIS. Once you configure your home network, you can view the security status as well as other info like the date of last scan for each computer from any PC on your home network.
In terms of keeping track of your keys. Have you created a Norton Account? The Norton Account keeps track of the keys you have purchased and activated and the remaining time for each one of them.In 2008 there is an in Product link to setup or login into your Norton Account on the top right side of the main UI.
Hope this helps
Thank you for the responses. We are a business with limited IT support, just a few of us, each knowing a bit. I am running Nortom Home products NIS2008 some NIS 2006 and some running 360. I am guessing a totla PC count of 10. The reason for the home products is that it was a natural continuation of what came with each Dell. We are ot running a PC server as a server per se, no Windows Server XXXX. Our server is simply a file storage bucket to keep data on. So it sounds like I am far away from any solution other than go to each machine and start writing things down, versions, expiration dates. Of course with 2008 (NIS) the first challenge was to get the vista machines to see the XP machines I had to use the network viewer, identify all the machines by their IP address and fully trust them, one by one. Then they showed up in the OS network browser.
