Could you open the entry where "Rule Windows Networking in Public Blocked UDP(17) ? Lets see what other information is there. There are UDP (17) Public traffic rules all over the firewall rules that cannot be changed. Thanks in advance.
Do not want SMB available in Public (this IS a desktop so I never run the LAN or connections as Public).
In an older thread you had advised me that one should not install different versions of Norton (360 Deluxe over 360) and I mentioned I was out of licenses… specifically as I had a boot disk problem after installing Norton 360 Deluxe a week later UNRELATED to Norton. So I restored a back-up take before installing Norton 360 Deluxe and installed it again.
I assume I could go to my account (which shows this PC as having used 2 licenses of our 3) and remove both from my PC and then delete all Norton and install 360 Deluxe? Could this be part of the problem? Also my wife is in the same state, but she can’t see the History at all and might be getting the same notices?
In another older one you said I shouldn’t have installed 360 directly over and older licensed version. So I got NRnR and used the REMOVE and REINSTALL option.
When it was again installed I went used my N360 UID/PW to activate the ‘new’ install.
It’s not just you this new version of Norton is badly broken. I got the update and noticed my download speeds and internet browsing were not as normal, then I got the update on my laptop and it had the same effect. Something is very wrong with it.
All: I have reverted to version 22.24.8.36, using intelligent updater to stay up to date with definitions. Recommend you do the same due to 24.xx keeps giving you the same issues back to back.
I’m adding my new Asus Win 11 laptop to this thread. I too see multiple notations per minute for the same wifi connection in Norton History.
Has anyone been working on this issue and found a fix?
I was wondering if it may have something to do with the ISP’s modem that auto senses the best choice between a 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz bands to provide to the connected device. I cannot find any information on how this works, or if it can be disabled. Sagemcom F@st 3896 SU.
This gateway unit is similar to the Norton Core and some other newer gateways that can only be configured using a mobile app. I have looked at and tried changing every setting I can find in the app, but there is no change in what Norton is reporting. There is no setting to turn off the adaptive ‘Auto Sense’ feature.
Because of issues with the streaming TV service we use with this ISP, the router gets rebooted quite often.
Accessing the web interface just direct me to download and use the app. All I can access is very limited stats on some features. No way to control what devices use which band. Same in the app. No band control at all.
Oh wow!! That was worth a shot at any rate. Do you also use a second router with this device much as we did with the Core setup in a NAT-NAT environment? Wondering if there is a new firmware set that may allow for new settings to be used!!
I used to use a NAT-NAT setup with the previous gateway. But the router I was using finally gave up the ghost and I’m just using the ISP’s Wifi 6 router.
Ahh ok. The TP-Link I use has settings for channels, bandwidth, etc. that I can adjust within its settings or via the app itself. I don’t have its WiFi auto-connect feature enabled as it is in NAT-NAT with my Verizon G3100 ISP device and its WiFi is disabled. None of the devices, including my personal laptop are experiencing the freezes or connection changes filling history as you guys are seeing. I am finding that odd because I have a mixture of OEM’s and hardware differences on each device. And I am back on the current release with 25.7xx again too which is also surprising.
