With regards to maintaining propriety in my communications in regards to my Norton experience, I'll be straining here :) However, I surely want this to remain posted, so here we go. First and foremost, my computer ended up with several viruses. Norton detected one, which was the Trojan BrisvA.inf. Those which it did not detect were obfuscator.dz, autorun.inf, and iapro.exe. Since BrisvA required manual removal, I went to Symantec's site and downloaded the tool. Which froze at precisely the same point each of the 5 or 6 times I attempted it. Surely this will be attributed to some sort of error on my part, however, I've got a brain and a working knowledge of computers and the error was not. The tool was ineffective. Reading posts on other sites, it seems that I am only one of the majority who have shared the same circumstances. So I decide I'm going to get some support from Norton. But is this a free service incorporated with a paid product? No. And wouldn't you know it, I've been laid off since the middle of December and couldn't pay. I was unable to get the registry back to default settings and remove all occurrences of the infections. So, my computer is rendered inoperable. And I have not a dime with which to fix it.
Maybe if I spend $50 to get support services, I can get a $40 damage contribution.
Thanks Norton.
