I just received a new gaming desktop. I followed the steps below, but step 8 is not happening. Graphics card isn't high-end, but it should be able to mine: Radeon RX 550 2GB.
1) Windows 10 must be with EN/US settings (Locale and Language - English (United States)
2) Norton 360 need a clean install with EN/US settings
3) Run again the EAP_Targetter_All_English.exe
4) Go in the Antivirus settings menu (Settings -> Administrative Settings) to apply for EAP
5) Install all updates with Live Update
6) Restart PC/laptop
7) Check again if there are new updates with Live Update / and Restart PC/laptop for the 2nd time.
8) You will see the Mining thingy
Machine 4: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 G-SYNC (still no option to start mining)
Machine 5: I upgraded graphics card yesterday to Radeon RX 580 Video Graphics Card 8GB GDDR5, reinstalled Norton, & re-enrolled in EAP. This gave me the option to mine, but it never achieved a hash rate above zero.
Yes, all 5 are US/Eng. Otherwise, the 3 mining successfully would have an issue. I'm located in Texas, so my downloads via my subscription account are always the US/Eng version.
Wonder if there is a limit to the number of devices that can be consigned to one account for crypto pooling. Allow me to touch bases with my Norton contact for an answer on that question.
Edited: Since the EAP program is a basic BETA there may be some questions not presented in the release notes or otherwise which the team hasn't dealt with. Hoping my point person will jump into the thread as well.
All 5 Norton 360 installed with EN/US version, right?
This last one, however, has GPU that meets the standard. I uninstalled and reinstalled Norton 360 and followed the steps above again. Still no option to start mining.
Sometimes you just need to wait 24h or a bit more.
Maybe you need some extra updates that are stuck somewhere.
I have all 5 machines set up the same (3 are mining Norton Crypto successfully):
- Windows 10 with all updates (USA English)
- Latest video drivers
- Latest Norton, EAP enrolled, live updates (see list I posted at beginning of this thread)
3 are mining, 2 do not have the option. 1 of those 2, as you pointed out, has insufficient GUP memory. New graphics card on the way.

The other question is what OS's are you using on the machines that ARE running properly as well as the one(s) that are not. Are the graphics drivers WHQL certified through Windows update for those OS's ? And what Norton product and its version did you bring into the EAP program, how many seats ( licenses ) do you have? XP , Vista and Windows 7 WITHOUT a service pack aren't supported. Just some thoughts about what could be the issue.
