New entries in NIS 2011 History Log

I installed NIS 2011 today and have some differeces in my  Security history logs

When I first boot up my computer one of the entries is;

Protecting your connection to a newly detected network on adapter "Software Loopback  Interface 1" (IP address 127.0.0.1

This entry never came up in my history when I had NIS 2008 NIS 2009 or NIS 2010?

Is it ok, and does it only show up on NIS 2011 and  not earlier editions of NIS?

Also each of these entries show up 2 times. On NIS 2010, as I recall, they only showed up once.
